A SERIES of Remembrance Day services will honour the borough's fallen servicemen this Sunday.

A service is to be held at the war memorial in Harrow Green, Leytonstone, from 10.30am and will be led by local vicar Reverend Raymond Draper.

It is set to be attended by veterans and their families and will also include music led by the Salvation Army band.

An event in Coronation Gardens, near High Road, will also unveil a new plaque, dedicated to the members of Leyton Orient Football Club who died during the First World War.

The service begins at 9.30am and will include standard bearers, bagpipers and a performance from the Leyton Orient Supporters' Club Buglers.

Waltham Forest Scouts will march in a parade from Lloyd Park, Walthamstow at 10.15am to attend a service at Waltham Forest town hall.

Waltham Forest mayor Cllr Anna Mbachu, the Deputy Lieutenant of Waltham Forest, the celebrant, Fr James Boothman, and Waltham Forest Councillors will be leading the parade.

A service of remembrance will start at 11am with a two-minute silence and the firing of maroons to symbolise the last post and reveille.

A parade also departs from the front of Chingford Fire Station at 10.40am, arriving at the Kings Head Hill war memorial, where a short service will take place.

SS Peter and Paul Church will then hold a longer service.

At 11am, the South Chingford Congregational Church will hold an act of remembrance, followed by the usual family celebration.

St John's Church in Leytonstone will also hold a dedicated remembrance service at 10.30am.

It will also host a special remembrance walk entitled 'Where the Bombs Fell' on November 7.
