FIVE foreign students have seen their hard work pay off after landing top A-level results in a range of languages.
More than 30 students at Redbridge College achieved AS or A-Level passes in French, German, Polish, Portuguese, Dutch or Urdu.
Niroj Keetharajan, 16 - who speaks Tamil as his first language - achieved an A in his German AS Level.
The teenager, who is currently studying English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) at the College, in Ilford, said: "I have really enjoyed my course and am happy to be studying here for a second year.
"I am planning to improve my English until I am able to start a career in IT."
Fellow student, Mateus Kusaj passed his ESOL course and Polish A-Level and is now studying for a First Diploma in information technology at the College.
He said: "I originally decided to study at Redbridge College because it was close to my home, but I'm really happy I chose it because there is so much on offer and I have enjoyed my time here."
Carol Boorman, who teaches languages at the college, said: "These are supplementary studies for our students, relying heavily on their prior learning in other countries.
"Many of the students at Redbridge College are bilingual or even trilingual.
"Getting these A-Levels will give the students additional UCAS points, helping them get into top universities in the future."
