THE Town Hall became a backdrop for a spectacular fireworks display yesterday enjoyed by thousands.
More than 7,000 people attended the display organised by Waltham Forest Council - the highest number that has ever attended the annual event.
Cabinet member for leisure, arts and culture, Cllr Geraldine Reardon, said: “It was great that so many people came out to enjoy the fireworks display - we believe there were around 2,000 more people who attended this year.
“There were people of all ages, and lots of families with young children, enjoying the fireworks, fairground rides and games.
“Once again the display was wonderful, and there were certainly lots of smiling faces at the end of the evening.”
