A FUND-RAISING walk is being held in honour of a serving Afghan soldier.

Private Lewis Keogh of the 1st Royal Anglians is currently fighting in Afghanistan and his friends and family are organising a walk from Loughton to Woodford to raise money for charity.

Lewis is a long-time member of Woodford Rugby Club, and the four-and-a-half mile walk is being organised by former club manager Angela Metcalfe who works at Metloc printers, in Station Road, Loughton.

The team of walkers, including former school friends, rugby players and Lewis's mum Tracy will walk from Debden Park High School, in Willingale Road, Loughton to Woodford Rugby Club collecting donations on the way for Help For Heroes which supports wounded soldiers.

Anyone interested in joining the walk, which takes place Saturday, December 12 at 10am, should contact Angela on 07810 541171 or by email on metloc@btconnect.com.
