JACK Tweed has been ordered to stand trial for allegedly raping a teenager.
The widower of former reality TV star Jade Goody is charged with raping the unnamed 19-year-old woman at his home in Brandesbury Square, Repton Park, in Woodford Green, in the early hours of September 4 after meeting her at a West End nightclub.
Tweed, 22, stands accused alongside Anthony Davis, 25, of Stradbroke Grove in Chigwell. Neither defendant attended the Snaresbrook Crown Court hearing today (Monday November 16).
Judge David Radford confirmed the pair will appear to enter their pleas on December 22. Tweed will appear via videolink and his lawyer has indicated that he will deny the charge. The trial has been given a provisional date of April 12.
Club promoter Tweed married Jade Goody, 27, earlier this year, only a few weeks before she lost her battle with cervical cancer in March. The father of Jade's two children, TV presenter Jeff Brazier, vowed in October to deny Tweed access to his children.
