POLICE and agencies are to hold their own stalls alongside the more regular traders at markets across the district next week - offering confidential advice about domestic violence.
The roadshow is being held as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Week, and will see officers at Epping market on Monday (November 23), Waltham Abbey market on Tuesday (November 24), Epping Forest College on Wednesday (November 25) and at Debden market on Thursday (November 26).
Essex Police's domestic abuse and hate crime officer, Sgt Shirley Cole, said: "Raised tensions leading to violence and abuse can occur within families spending long periods of time in close proximity during this time of year, in particular over the festive period.
"Essex Police will take positive action against all offenders. We will be working over this period and will arrest and remove anyone committing any offences.
"We will also be there to provide support for families and any victims of abuse."
If you, or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, you can contact the domestic abuse and hate crime unit (DAHCU) on 01279 625493 or via Harlow police station on 0300 333 4444.
