LOCAL boy-turned-acclaimed international tenor, Ben Johnson (pictured left), returns to his roots for a fundraising performance at the Chingford Parish Church on Saturday. It is here, as a member of the Chingford Parish Church Choir, that the Cheshunt singer met pianist Tom Primrose, who will accompany him for an evening of song and operatic favourites.
The concert, which will feature works by Verdi, Giordani, Purcell and Vaughn Williams, is being held in aid of the Hall on the Green project to rebuild the Vestry Hall.
A multi-prize winning graduate of London’s Royal College of Music, Ben has performed at many prestigious international festivals, sung at the BBC Proms and is preparing to make his debut with the London Symphony Orchestra.
