A CHAMPION freestyle footballer showed of his skills at a primary school as part of a special Children In Need event today (Friday 20).
Jeremy Lynch, who reached the final stages of this year's Britain's Got Talent competition on ITV, did a demonstration during assembly at Chuchfields Junior School in South Woodford.
The pupils, who came in dressed as their sporting heroes for the charity day, were wowed by Romford-born Jeremy's ball control and silky skills.
Teacher Clare Morgan, who organised the event: “He was ever so good. First he played a warm-up game with the children, where he juggled the ball and then the children had to call out the part of the body he had to catch it with. We had all sorts: arm, shoulder, knee, back. One child even called out 'tongue', which he even managed to do.
“Then he put on some music and did his show of skills, where he juggled two ball at once and rolled around on the floor, doing his thing. It was like the ball was glued to him.
“What was lovely was that before he did his show, he talked about the charity and asked the children what causes they think they should try and help. One pupil said they should help children overseas who don't have enough money, and another said they should help children who are trying to look after a sick parent.
“He's a fantastic role model because he's young, only 22, and now all the kids are going to go home and try to do this keepy-uppy over the weekend, but also think about how important the charity is as well.”
By the end of the school day, the children had helped raise almost £500 for the charity, with more to come from a cake sale, with sweet treats made by pupils themselves, to be held after school.
Children In Need will be on BBC One this evening from 7pm.
