A BLAZE at an industrial unit left one man needing treatment for burns and smoke inhalation and lead to eight people being evacuated yesterday afternoon (Sunday 22).
Six fire engines and around 30 firefighters were called to the industrial units on Roding Lane North in Woodford at around 3pm. The fire was out by 10.30pm, by which time ten cars and four portacabins has been damaged.
The blaze involved five LPG cylinders and a hazard zone was put up around the area, as the cylinders can explode when exposed to extreme heat.
A London Ambulance crew treated a man for minor burns and smoke inhalation at the scene, but he was not transferred to hospital.
Crews from Leytonstone, Woodford, Hainault, Romford and Walthamstow stations attended the scene. The Fire Service is currently investigating the cause of the incident.
