HUNDREDS of balloons were released to mark the opening of a new hall after years of hard work.
Pupils, parents and teachers past and present gathered at Stapleford Abbotts Primary School for the official opening and the school’s youngest and eldest current pupils held a ribbon as it was cut.
Parent Teacher Association member and fundraiser Linda Hilton said: “It was quite emotional really, we had ex-pupils and a couple of former headmistresses there too. That was lovely because there were some people there who hadn't seen each other for years. It was a bit of a reunion really.
“It was great to see how much the school has changed, it's brought us into the 21st century.”
