COMMUTERS using overground train services face disruption this Christmas due to planned engineering work.

Many trains into Liverpool St will be suspended from 11pm on Christmas Eve until 3am on January 4 to allow for the repair of overhead cables.

Some passengers will be forced to use rail replacement buses to and from London.

Services to Stansted airport will terminate at Tottenham Hale from Christmas Day until December 29 and again on January 2.

Passengers will have to take Victoria Line Tube trains to and from Central London instead.

Last trains on the Chingford to Liverpool Street overground service will depart at around 9.30pm on Christmas Eve.

The service will then be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

A normal service will run on December 27 and 28 and then a modified Saturday timetable will be in operation from December 29 to New Year's Eve.

There will be a modified Sunday service on New Year's Day.
