TRADERS and residents have been invited to give their views on plans to regenerate one of the borough's busiest shopping areas.

Hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of improvements have been proposed for Barkingside Town Centre - which are due to be unveiled at a council scrutiny committee meeting next Thursday (December, 10).

The authority has encouraged the public to come along to the meeting - at Ilford County High School - and give their opinion on the draft scheme, which is due to include new landscaping, more public spaces and improved transport links.

The plan, which was developed after consultation with businesses and residents in Barkingside, has been designed to improve the town centre for shoppers and residents and attract more business to the area.

The meeting will begin at 6.30pm at the school on Fremantle Road.

A display of the proposals will be available beforehand from 5.45pm.
