AN UNSEASONAL school production of one of Shakespeare’s best-loved plays attracted so many to the audition that the school staged it with four seperate casts.
A Midsummer Night's Dream ran over four successive nights at Wanstead High School in Redbridge Lane West with a baroque accompaniement from the school’s music students.
The set was created by the school’s art technician Elaine Chance and some of the costumes were hirted from the National Theatre.
Head of drama Mark Whitehead said: “The pleasure in this production is that the play has something for everyone. The primary school children who came to see our dress rehearsal liked the slapstick whereas for adults and older students it is the poetry and drama that is really appreciated. It really is a play for all ages.”
