A NEW scheme to encourage young people to steer clear of crime and anti-social behaviour will be launched at a special event tomorrow (December 8).
Police Explorers aims to use a range of activities to give 11 to 14-year-olds in the borough positive uses for their time.
The scheme will offer a diverse range of activities, including first aid training, climbing, sailing, debating social issues and ice skating.
Police from forensics, firearms, traffic, mounted branch, dog unit and many other departments will be on hand at the event to answer questions and offer advice.
The launch will take place at Loxford Youth Centre, Loxford Lane, Ilford IG1 2UT, from 4.30pm to 6.00pm.
For more information on Police Explorers call Loxford Youth Centre 020 8478 4306.
