PARTY hats, gingerbread men, and snowman cakes were just some of the items created by Girl Guides for their centenary handicraft competition.
Members of Rainbow, Brownie, and Guide units from across the district tried their hand at craft-making, at Theydon Bois Village Hall.
Over 400 girls from 23 different groups took part on the day which also saw a raffle and gifts given out before awards for first, second and third place were presented.
Girl Guide division commissioner Julie Taylor said: “Once all the handicrafts were displayed in the hall they made a spectacular sight, and adequately reflected all of the hard work that each of the units and the individual girls had put in over the term.
“The event was well attended and it was a joy to see the girls arrive and find their handicraft with a rosette on it.
“This was a good occasion for all the girls to see that they are part of a wider organisation and an opportunity for the whole division to get together and celebrate. Well done to everyone who took part.”
