A GROUP of environmentalists from Waltham Forest are travelling to the United Nations Climate Change Summit on Friday.
Most of the 10 campaigners are from the borough and many are involved with Organiclea, a food-growing co-operative with a community allotment in Drysdale Avenue, Chingford.
They will set out for the summit on Friday in a van they describe as “fuel efficient”.
Ru Litherland, an Organiclea member, said: “It is a really critical time - people are doing great things to combat climate change at a local level, but unless there’s the political will to prevent companies profiting from pollution, we won’t get the reductions we need to avert a massive crisis.”
