WHIPPS Cross has been rated highly for patient safety in an assessment by a consultancy.
The Leytonstone hospital was assessed by Dr Foster across 13 safety measures and was awarded a score of 72 per cent, putting it in the top 40 per cent of hospitals in the country.
The report rates hospital trusts on death rate, infection control and ability to meet targets.
The information will be used as part of the Dr Foster Hospital Guide 2009.
Lucy Moore, Whipps chief executive said: “This is a fantastic achievement and testimony to our commitment to patients care and dedication of Trust staff on all levels. I want to thank everyone for their hard work in helping Whipps Cross achieve this position.”
“However I can assure our local community that we will endeavour to maintain this standard and will not be complacent."
