TWO MEN will be sentenced today (December 10) after being convicted of charges related to a bungled plot to blow up aircraft.
Adam Khatib, 23, of Walthamstow was found guilty by majority verdict at Woolwich Crown Court yesterday of conspiracy to murder.
Co-defendant Nabeel Hussain, 25, of Chingford was found guilty, also by majority verdict, of preparing for terrorism by meeting convicted terrorist ringleader Abdulla Ahmed Ali, who was sentenced to at least 40 years in September.
Hussain was also found guilty of possessing several items, namely a will, mobile phones and a £25,000 loan application, for use in terrorism.
A third defendent, Mohammed Shamin Uddin, 39, of Stoke Newington, was unanimously found guilty of possessing materials likely to be useful in committing or preparing an act of terrorism.
The jury spent 31 hours and 11 minutes deliberating over six days before reaching its verdict.
