A FLOODED crater in the middle of a residential street which was turned into a water feature by creative residents has finally been drained.
The hole in Upper Walthamstow Road - dug by workmen to access underground water pipes - was surrounded by reeds, flowers and even a 'no fishing' sign by people living nearby who had got tired of waiting for Thames Water to fill it in.
The crater had filled with water and began to overflow at the weekend, causing a stream to flow down the road towards Wood Street for several days.
But workmen have now fixed the problem, solving the flooding, but leaving residents to bid farewell to their short-lived pond.
