THE interim vice chancellor of the University of East London has formally received his knighthood from Prince Charles.
A fellow of the Royal Historical Society and Royal Society of the Arts, Professor Deian Hopkin has been closely involved with educational policy over a number of years.
He received the knighthood at Buckingham Palace on Friday, in a week in which his report into his enquiry into the Student Loans Company's diffculties this summer, when large numbers of students did not get their money in time for the start of term, was published.
The Government has accepted all 14 of the recommendations in his report.
