ELDERLY people will benefit from the public's generosity after the success of a Christmas hamper appeal.
Aldborough Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) visited a number of different supermarkets across the area to collect almost 1200 items for the appeal, which provided some of the borough's most vulnerable people with plenty of food this Christmas.
The hampers will be distributed by members of the SNT and volunteers from Help The Aged to elderly residents across Redbridge, with any leftovers going to the Ilford Homeless Night Shelter in Mansfield Road.
