A TROUPE of young dancers have found television fame on a reality show.
Eight members of the dance group “Unity” have been performing street dance on BBC3's “Move like Michael Jackson” programme, which is seeking a dance group which dances like the star to perform in a musical about his life.
The classically trained dancers who formed a group in Waltham Forest five years ago, have made it through to the semi-final - but whether or not they reach the final will be revealed on television tonight.
Latoya Satnarine, 22, of Wesley Road, Leyton, said: “It has been an emotional journey. It has drained everyone because we are rehearsing from 10am to midnight every day and have to keep choreographing new dances.
“But we have grown together as a group. And now we hope we will win it.”
Miss Satnarine said the group were starstruck to meet Michael Jackson's brother, Jermaine, who is a judge on the show, and are all big Michael Jackson fans so they are hoping that their technical skills and style will win a place in the musical.
