CHILDREN from six schools created festive cheer yesterday at a carol concert.
The event at The Mall, in Selbourne Walk, Walthamstow, was the second day of carols being performed by local children for shoppers.
The music festival was organised by Colette Shrubsole, head of Waltham Forest Music Service, and helped to raise funds for this year’s Mayor’s Charity, the Whipps Cross Maternity Unit's “Big Push” appeal.
The festivities continue on Saturday and Sunday when Santa and his helpers make a welcome return to the shopping centre where children can have their photo taken with him free of charge.
Santa Meets and greets children at The Mall Walthamstow, from 11am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, December 19 and 20.
