PERFORMERS representing the borough's best talent will bid to win a share of £50,000 for charity at the annual New Year Parade in London.
On January 1, a troupe of entertainers collectively known as 'Pride of Redbridge' will represent the borough during the annual parade, which runs past a host of the capital's world-famous landmarks for a global television audience.
Steel bands, lion dancers and martial artists will be just some of those looking to secure the cash, which will go towards some of the most deserving good causes in the borough, in front of crowds of around half a 500,000 people and a television audience of many millions.
More than 20 countries will be represented and a total of 10,000 performers will take part. The parade will kick off at 12pm in Piccadilly at the junction with Berkley Street, before finishing finishing at Parliament Square at around 3pm.
