A TEENAGER has won an award for her services to the local community.
Patrice Thompson, who attends Holy Family College, in Shernhall Street, Walthamstow, was one of five students across the capital to win the award of Student Leader in the Bank of America Charitable Foundation Neighbourhood Excellence Initiative.
Miss Thompson won the award for a number of initiatives.
She co-ordinated the sale of bottled water to support anti-poverty campaign group ONE's clean water initiatives in Africa, she was a finance director in a Young Enterprise project, a group leader for the East London Communities Organisation and has chaired the sixth form council.
