MORE than £1,000 was raised for sick and disadvantaged youngsters during a special performance by a much-loved Redbridge choir.
An appreciative audience enjoyed an evening of song and music when the Salway Singers hit the stage in aid of Haven House Children's Hospice and charity Changing Lives - which supports children in Africa.
The performance - at Salway Church, in Woodford Green - included a range of festive classics from the Christmas Cantata 'Night of Miracles' by John W Peterson, to other pieces such as Angel Tidings, Star Carol and Mary did you Know?
All of the money raised will be split equally between the two charities.
