MEMBERS at Epping Golf Club played a game with a difference when they braved freezing temperatures and snow to take part in their annual Yuletide contest.
The competition, held to collect money for St Clare Hospice in Hastingwood, saw 46 enthusiastic golfers battle it out over nine holes using bright orange balls.
The eventual winners of the event, held bright and early just after 7am on Saturday (December 19), were duo Pete Nicholls and Fergie Quinn Smith.
Following the game, players took part in a raffle, which added to the total of £500 raised on the day.
The event also saw the club present a £2,816 cheque to the hospice, collected during other fund-raising events this year.
The next public event at the club, in Flux's Lane, Epping, is its Boxing Day Bonanza, which teams can take part in for £1 per head plus green fees.
