THE snow has now stopped falling – but readers have been sending photographs of wintry scenes across the borough.
Rupert Hitchcox sent us a picture of Walthamstow's famous town hall building covered in snow, Stefan Baker took a snap of Grove Green Road, in Leytonstone, covered with ice this morning, while Cllr James O'Rourke spotted a tall, thin snowman in Station Road, Chingford.
The weather has caused traffic congestion in Hoe Street, Walthamstow and High Road, Leyton.
Forecasters say we are unlikely to have any more snow in the next few days.
It will be overcast today, but will brighten up by the end of the week, meaning Christmas is more likely to be sunny than white.
