TONIGHT'S council debate over the outcome of its controversial gypsy and traveller site consultation has been postponed.
Councillors at Epping Forest District Council were due to discuss the results of the survey, but the item has been struck off the agenda following the snow-hit cancellation of yesterday's cabinet meeting, which was scheduled to discuss the item first.
Tonight's full council meeting will still go ahead and all other agenda items will still be discussed.
The £150,000 consultation was criticised earlier this week by residents for being "useless" after respondents rejected every proposed traveller site.
The council is to hold the cabinet meeting instead on Monday January 4, while an extraordinary full council meeting will be held to discuss the consultation on Tuesday 19 January, subject to the agreement of the council's chair.
