MILLIONS of pounds will be available for improvements to transport across the borough.
London mayor Boris Johnson has announced the allocation of £4.6 million for improvements to infrastructure around Redbridge over the next two years.
A million pounds will be ploughed into the continued overhaul of South Woodford town centre, including a new CCTV system and better crossings, lighting and paving.
There will also be £55,000 for the Redbridge Car Club, aimed at reducing second car ownership and easing congestion for public transport.
Mayor Johnson said: "Even in these tough economic times I am committed to providing this funding to all of London's boroughs.
"We have cut the red tape to make it easier for borough councils to choose the local transport projects that benefit their residents the most."
