ONE of the jazz world's most respected performers will play an exclusive charity concert next month.
Award-winning saxophonist John Altman will perform at the Bancroft's Swingers Second Reunion Concert in the Great Hall at Bancroft's School, Woodford Green, on Saturday January 9.
Over his career, the musician has received a series of award wins and nominations, including the Emmy Awards and the BAFTAs.
The school's marketing officer Karen Rogers said: “John Altman is a really big name in the jazz world.
“His musical CV is amazing – he has won so many awards and worked with an incredible and diverse range of top rock, pop and jazz musicians.”
Two years ago the ensemble's last reunion concert raised over £2,000 for Haven House and the organisers are hoping to exceed that fantastic total this time around.
Tickets are priced at £10 and include entrance and a glass of wine. All profits will go to St Claire Hospice, which provides support to people with life-threatening and terminal illness.
