A NOVEL by an A-level teacher could be made into a movie by a Hollywood superstar.
Saci Lloyd, 42, from Leytonstone, wrote The Carbon Diaries 2015, which was short-listed for the prestigious Costa prize and has attracted interest from Infinitum Nihil, a production company run by Johnny Depp.
The novel chronicles the changes to the planet as it struggles to deal with the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, from the perspective of a teacher living through the crisis.
Ms Lloyd, who teaches at Newham Sixth Form College, has already signed a TV rights deal with Company Pictures, who make hit television shows Shameless and Skins.
Ms Lloyd's next book, The Carbon Diaries 2017, is published on Janaury 6.
