THE father of a man who mysteriously died during a party at the Roydon home of TV entertainer Michael Barrymore has said he is giving up his campaign for justice.

Terry Lubbock, of Harlow, has been fighting for nearly a decade to find answers into how and why his son Stuart died at the house in 2001.

Stuart, 31, was found by a swimming pool with severe internal injuries.

No-one has ever been charged in connection with the death, although two men were arrested and then released on suspicion of murder in 2007.

Mr Lubbock, who recently suffered from a seizure, said his health was failing and the stress of the ordeal had lead him to reluctantly to give up his campaign.

Essex Police have said their investigation into the case remains open.
