PARENTS have been asked to do their bit to help improve maternity services at King George Hospital.
The hospital, in Ilford, was slammed in a Healthcare Commission report in 2008 which found that more than a third of women there had been denied access to appropriate pain killing drugs before, during and after the birth of their children.
Barking, Havering and Redbridge, NHS Trust (BHRT) which runs King George has since made significant improvements to its maternity services - being awarded a coveted 'level two' score in a recent government assessment.
But parents are now being called upon to volunteer for a place on an advisory committee to pass on their experiences and opinions to health bosses.
The committee is due to meet six times a year.
