A TEENAGE gang went on the rampage last night stabbing a 13-year-old in an “unprovoked” attack and hitting another over the head with a bottle.
In what some are saying is a territorial attack, a 13-year-old boy was stabbed in Prospect Hill, Walthamstow, near the junction with Shernhall Street.
He was not seriously injured and has now been discharged from Whipps Cross Hospital, in Leytonstone.
Police found the terrified boy at 6.20pm on Monday, and then found a 16-year-old in nearby Attlee Terrace who was suffering from a head wound after being hit with a bottle.
A Met spokeswoman said: “It is thought the same group of boys is responsible for both attacks.”
A number of residents reported seeing a large number of boys in the area looking for trouble in the run up to the attacks.
The incident is likely to alarm residents just nine months after 18-year-old Wahab Zaaki was stabbed and killed in Prospect Hill following a row between a large group of youths.
Alex Bell, 35, of Shernhall Street, witnessed the aftermath of the latest stabbing from her house, which looks on to the junction with Prospect Hill.
She said: “I saw 40 young people in a group running away and then the police arrived.
“It seems to be quite a bad area.”
Ismail Jigar, 70, also of Shernhall Street, said: “I have lived her for nearly 40 years and it used to be peaceful.
“I used to walk from here to Leytonstone and to Ilford, but now I don't feel safe leaving the house.
“There have been a number of incidents, it all seems to be about territory.”
Police have now stepped up high visibility patrols in the area in an attempt to prevent further trouble and to reassure residents.
