WALTHAM Forest police cadets have taken part in a special Christmas initiative to help prevent burglary.
A total of 25 cadets, aged 14 to 21, delivered 6,000 crime prevention leaflets around the borough.
The leaflets contained information on small steps that can be taken to make sure homes are secure over the festive period.
A Met spokeswoman said: “Sadly Christmas is not just a time for giving - burglars see it as a time for taking.
“The commitment of the cadets in appalling weather is to be commended.”
