THREE people have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a man who tried to break up a fight.
David Joslin, 23, of Highams Park, was punched in Old Church Road, Chingford, on December 19.
He never regained consciousness and died in hospital of head injuries three days later.
Two men and a woman last night handed themselves in to police and are currently being questioned.
It is understood the three people arrested were part of a group involved in a confrontation with another group which had just left the Obelisk pub.
Det Chief Insp John McDonald, who is leading the murder investigation, said Mr Joslin knew a couple of people from the Obelisk group, but it is likely he intervened because he saw an injured person lying on the floor.
Mr Joslin, who worked at Morrison's supermarket, in Chingford, leaves his parents Phil and Margaret, of Kimberley Road, Chingford, younger brother Andrew and a sister.
