RODING Valley High School’s Winter Wonderland concert has been proclaimed an outstanding success after over 250 students took to the stage to perform.

More than 450 parents and friends attended the musical extravaganza which included popular classics such as Somewhere Over the Rainbow, I Dreamed a Dream, and Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars.

Bands, soloists and the school choir all put on pieces and the evening ended with a rendition of Michael Jackson's Man in the Mirror.

School head of music Rhiannon Rhys-Jones said: “I have been overcome by the dedication and enthusiasm of the pupils and the support that they have offered me in preparing for the concert. Pupils showed empathy and understanding when selecting the music for the evening all of which fitted together to form a splendid night of entertainment, mulled wine and mince pies.”
