A DOG stranded in a river was rescued when three firefighting crews came to its aid.
The pooch, which became caught in two feet of fast flowing water by the River Roding near Roding Road in Loughton, got into difficulties just after 3pm on Christmas Eve.
Two teams from Loughton and one from Waltham Abbey attended the scene and spent about 15 minutes rescuing the animal.
