THREE children have been crowned winners of the Guardian Series' annual Top Tots competition to find the cutiest babies and toddlers in the area.

Stanley Baker, aged three, won the aged 19 months to four years category and Brook Payley, aged one, won the 10 to 18 months category.

Francesca Mackie, of James Street, in Epping, won the new born to nine months category.

Stanley's parents, Ian Baker and Sharon Sloan, of Pearcroft Road, Leytonstone, said they were delighted when they found out their son had won.

Mr Baker, 50, a full-time dad, said: “All parents think their children are lovely so we are probably biased. But we were over the moon he won.

"I was a late starter having children. It is hard work, but he is a lovely little boy and can pull a few birds around the supermarket.”

Brook's mum and dad, Kelly Hart, 29, and Mark Payley, 30, of Chewton Road, Walthamstow, were equally pleased.

Miss Hart, who also has a nine-year-old boy, Jordon, said: “Brook loves the camera. Every time she gets in front of one she smiles. She is a bit of a show-off and a friendly little character.

“I couldn't believe it when I found out she had won. I am very proud of her.”

Each of the winners will receive a framed photo of their child taken by a professional photographer.
