PROTESTORS will gather to voice their opposition to plans to close the borough's only A&E ward this weekend (January 9).
Concerned members of the public will join Ilford South MP Mike Gapes and Ilford North MP Lee Scott, along with organiser Wilson Chowdhury, at the event to demonstrate against plans to shut the service at King George Hospital in Ilford.
Mr Chowdhury said: “This will be a cross-party, multi-group protest to show healthcare bosses how people feel about the proposed closure of the A&E at King George.
“We had about 50 people at out last protest but we're hoping to have more like 100 to 200 this time round to show just how many people are united in opposition.”
The protest will take place outside Ilford Twon Hall from 12pm to 2pm.
