A 36-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court charged with causing the death of a cyclist.
Ali Altuntas, of Leadale Avenue, Chingford, appeared in court today in connection with the death of 47-year-old Jim Fleming.
Mr Fleming was hit by a car as he cycled to work along the A413 Amersham Road, Gerrards Cross, on April 1 last year.
Altuntas appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court this morning charged with causing death by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice.
He was granted bail with conditions not to apply for travel documents, to surrender his passport and to report to Chingford Police Station twice a week.
He will appear at court again on March 1, when he is expected to enter a plea.
