CHILDREN unable to go to school today will have a more fun way to spend their day off – frolicking in the snow in one of the borough's parks.
According to Redbridge Council, all the borough's main parks are still open despite the heavy snow, meaning parents and pupils can make the best of the winter conditions.
However, smaller and more remote parks are closed, and parents are advised that keepers will be shutting parks an hour earlier than usual to make sure they are vacated by nightfall.
Anyone looking to get to a park should travel on foot, however, as all car parks and vehicle routes to the parks are closed for the time being.
