A TEMPORARY respite against the snow is on the way for residents in the Epping Forest District although outbreaks look likely tomorrow.

After near continuous and often heavy snow today (January 6), forecasters are predicting a largely dry evening tonight although freezing temperatures will see the thermometer dip to -4°C.

A sharp frost overnight is expected to be followed by a sunny outlook tomorrow morning which will continue throughout much of the day although outbreaks of snow are possible, and a top temperature of 1°C will ensure wrapping up warm remains a priority.

More snow is expected towards the end of the week, and the weekend.
