Meanwhile, all the main parks in the borough remain open, but smaller parks will be shut again today.
A statement on the Redbridge Council website said: “Park keepers will strategically start to lock the park gates from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm, to enable our teams to vacate them efficiently in daylight and will advise park users throughout the day that parks will be closed earlier due to icy conditions.
“Car parks and vehicle routes in all of our parks will also remain closed for the time being.”
The parks which remain closed are:
Barley Lane Recreation Ground
Crucible Park
Grove Road Gardens
Salway
Uphall Recreation Ground
Westwood Recreation Ground
