ICE skaters at the Lee Valley Ice Centre have raised more than £800 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The cast of more than 90 performers have for the last few weeks been performing a musical version of Peter Pan on the ice at the centre, in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, with more than 6,500 people attending the shows.

Shaun Dawson, Lee Valley Regional Park Authority (LVRPA), said: “Lee Valley Ice Centre is delighted to have raised £820 for such an important and inspiring charity.

“We fundraised at all of our matinee and evening performances and thank our audience members for their generosity.”

The link between Peter Pan and Great Ormond Street is historic.

Peter Pan creator JM Barrie gave the rights to the hospital, meaning Great Ormond Street receives royalties every time the show is performed.
