ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that he has been priced out of any deal involving France striker Andre Pierre-Gignac.
The Frenchman has admitted that he is keen to recruit a striker during the January transfer window, although Gignac will not be that man, as Wenger insisted he could not afford the Toulouse player, who has netted four times in ten games for France.
“I like the player,” said Wenger. “I don’t need to send people to watch him because I know him well enough already because he plays for the French national team.
“Lyon tried to buy him last year for nearly £20million, so the price was too high.”
