THE RUBBISH and recycling piling up outside people's homes across the borough will begin to be cleared today (Monday 11) as council services get back to normal after last week's snowy weather and icy conditions.
Collections were severely disrupted, with all service cancelled on Thursday 7 and Friday 8, with icy roads posing a danger to crews' safety.
A Redbridge Council statement said: "We have cleared some of the Thursday, Friday and Saturday rounds but conditions were such that we could not access some side roads safely.
"As of Monday 11 January, we are reverting to the planned schedule (delivered to each household before Christmas) and will collect where the conditions are safe to do so."
"Please could residents leave their waste close to the boundary of their property. This will help speed up collection. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.”
