A CHARITY is calling on parents to gather unwanted toys and baby equipment to sell at a 'nearly new sale'.

Redbridge National Childbirth Trust (NCT) will hold the first of two sales this year in March at Christchurch Hall, Wanstead and is now looking for parents to register to take part.

A spokeswoman for the charity said: “From the price of every item, a small proportion – about 27 per cent – goes to the charity.

“The rest goes to the person selling the item – people selling things do make some money.”

The parenting charity's last sale, in October last year, raised a total of £6,500 with a turnout of more than 350 people.

For further information or to register as a seller, visit nct.org.uk/redbridge, where a seller's information is available for download from the 'events' section.

You can also email nct_redbridge_nns@yahoo.co.uk for more details.

The sale will take place on March 27 between 11am and 12.30pm.

Items for sale will include 'nearly new' toys, clothes, cots and highchairs for babies and toddlers.

The NCT provides counselling, information and support to parents around the UK.
