A DRIVER had a lucky escape when his car left the road and hit a tree earlier this morning (January 13).
It is not currently known how the black 56-registration Ford Fiesta came to leave the northbound lane of the A104 Epping New Road, in between the junction with Rangers Road and the Robin Hood roundabout.
The driver was unhurt and reported the incident to Essex Police. He is currently arranging recovery of the vehicle himself.
The car was wedged underneath branches at the base of the tree, which caused damage to the bonnet and front bumper.
It is not known whether there were any passengers in the car at the time.
More to follow.
